I think we should subscribe to National Geographic magazine again. A recent visit to Schneider gallery in Chicago reminded me of this series.
Flip-flops, floaties, flowers, fans. Clay pots, clocks, Buddhas, belts. Shoppers can find just about anything they want at the malls in Yiwu, China. The International Trade City alone has more than 30,000 stalls. "If you spend one minute at each shop, eight hours a day," says author Peter Hessler, "you'll leave two months later."
